Digital Online Store	08/2008	After months of work, Mush Records is pleased to present the newest addition to our website, the digital online store. All Digital Releases are DRM free 320 kbps mp3 files in a self-extracting zipped file. Our releases are available as complete albums only. No individual song downloads are available. We believe this is the best way to experience the music we release. Digital Releases can be downloaded one time only using a link sent to you in your order conformation email. A zipped folder will be downloaded to your computer's default download location (often your desktop). After extracting, you will have a folder named with the release catalog number. Inside of that folder are the mp3s for the downloaded release with all of the metadata and artwork already embedded in the files. Just add the files to whatever program you are using to play mp3s. Full length albums will sell for $7, EPs will sell for $3, and our 7" singles will sell for $2. Check back often in the next few weeks as more titles will be made available.

Free Downloads With Purchase	08/2008	Mush Records is happy to announce a new wrinkle in our digital store. From now on, when you purchase any piece of vinyl from the Mush Records Online Store, you will receive an email containing a link good for a free one-time download of the title you purchased. That's right. No need to buy a USB turntable or cut up tracks anymore. No need to hook your table up to a CD burner. From now on, all vinyl titles will be packaged with free corresponding downloads.

Head Like A Kite Eat, Drink, And Play	08/2008	Head Like A Kite recently sat down to eat and play for the good people at Songs For Eating And Drinking at the Sand Point Naval Air Station. Her Space Holiday Promo Video: The Sequel	08/2008	Marc Bianchi has sent over the second of the Her Space Holiday promotional short films he has shot based on music from the upcoming XOXO, Panda And The New Kid Revival. So, grab some popcorn... but not too much... and check out "Feel Better Birdie."

Busdriver And Antimc... Pennyaires Both	08/2008	After hearing Li'l Wayne's "A Milli" and arguing over how many units he actually sold in his first week in stores, Busdriver and Antimc decided to make a track that reflected how they're living, and hit the lab to create "Pennyaire." The track has been getting some web love, being mentioned on Urb.com, So Much Silence, Above The Fold, and Grandgood. Like any good modern day hip-hop track, they've also put together a ringtone, available here.

88 Boadrum	08/2008	Trent Moorman, the other half of Head Like A Kite's road-warrior dyad, will be taking part in the 88 Boadrum event in Los Angeles at the La Brea Tar Pits. The event will feature 88 drummers in Los Angeles and 88 in New York drumming simultaneously. For more info on the lineup, check out the feature in Pitchfork.

Bibio At Home And Away	08/2008	Bibio will be playing the Greenman Festival in Wales. His performance will be accompanied by screenings of his exclusive Super 8 films. In addition to performing, he has recently remixed fellow English artists Wax Stag and Epic45. The remix of Wax Stag's "Folk Rock" finds Bibio working in elements not usually found in his records: big vocal harmonies and drum arrangements. The remix of Epic45's "The Stars In Autumn" again finds Bibio working in percussion and drum arrangements, giving the track a bit of a samba flavor. Her Space Holiday Promotional Shorts	08/2008	Marc Bianchi has put together a set of short films centered around the music from his latest Her Space Holiday album XOXO, Panda And The New Kid Revival. The films capture the carefree mood of the music, and attempt to convey some of the changes Marc went through in the last few years between albums, and what inspired him to develop his new songwriting persona, XOXO, Panda. Head Like A Kite Show Review	07/2008	Three Imaginary Girls were checking out the Capitol Hill Block Party in Seattle, and made sure to catch Head Like A Kite's set, which featured a minimal amount of costume changes, but plenty of help from some local Seattle luminaries.

Eliot Lipp On Gear On TV On The Web	07/2008	Eliot Lipp took a camera crew from XLR8R down into his Manhattan basement studio and on a jaunt to the record store to show off the tons of analog gear he uses to record and his music buying proclivities. XLR8R edited down the footage into a piece entitled "Eliot Lipp Sometimes Goes Outside" for XLR8R TV.

Head Like A Kite Internet Press	07/2008	The Head Like A Kite press push continues with three internet items. First, an interview on Australian music-webzine Wireless Bollinger, second, a bit of a featurette at the end of the Paper Thin Walls review of "No Ordinary Caveman," and finally a feature on Head Like A Kite and Their Is Loud Laughter Everywhere on NeuFutur Magazine. In a semi-press related note, "No Ordinary Caveman" was also the Song Of The Day on KEXP for July 4th.

Mush Records Spotlighted On Better Propaganda	07/2008	Web music magazine Better Propaganda has given us a wonderful write up in their Label Spotlight section, including an 18 song downloadable Mush Records mix to listen to while you read.

Loden Mixes The Classics	07/2008	As one of his last acts before making a move into his bigger Brussels digs, Loden put together this mix for The New Worck, an exclusive mixtape blog. His taste, as evidenced by his albums, is pretty spot on, and the mix is a must-listen for fans of hip-hop, electronic, folk, '60s rock, and anything else that has notes.

New Boy In Static Video	07/2008	Boy In Static has teamed up with House Of Yes to create a video for the track "First Love" from his Mush Records debut, Violet. Staying in the vein of alternative rock videos that inspired his previous clip for "Where It Ends," the video captures Boy In Static's music perfectly.

Lymbyc Systym Best New Band From Arizona	07/2008	It's not often that you'll hear Lymbyc Systym and Stevie Nicks in one sentence together. However, The Boston Phoenix and it's readers and writers have compiled their Best Bands from all 50 states, naming a Best All-Time Band, Best All-Time Solo Artist, and Best New Band from all 50 states. Arizona's best band, all-time, was the Sun City Girls, best all-time solo act was Stevie Nicks, and the new best band from Arizona was Lymbyc Systym! Congratulations fellas, and we won't mention and recent moves.

& Records Licenses New Bibio Material	06/2008	Our friends at & Records in Japan have licensed Bibio's newest full-length, Vignetting The Compost, as well as his EP, Ovals & Emeralds. They will release the two as seperate CDs, with the full-length getting a special bonus track.

Head Like A Kite On TV... On Your Phone	06/2008	Head Like A Kite has been selected by AT&T and Broadband Enterprises to star on their broadband network's new series On The Brink. The show focuses on them playing seven shows in seven days with only $700 and the help of a handy-dandy cell-phone. They have posted the teaser for the show one their YouTube page here. Head Like A Kite On The Road... Head Like A Kite Hang At KEXP, Record Live Performance Podcast	06/2008	Head Like A Kite recently popped by Seattle's best radio station, KEXP, to play and hang. In case you missed it, blogger Cheryl Waters from The Stranger posted a great write-up about the show and the bands often off-kilter performance garb in Head Like A Kite... In Bathrobes. KEXP, for their part, have uploaded the Head Like A Kite performance to the live performance podcast section of their website. You can download it for iTunes or other formats, or just check out the mp3 on your comp. KEXP also posted photos from the hang sesh on their Flickr page.

Bet You Can't Wu-Tang Like Blue Sky Black Death	04/2008	Blue Sky Black Death have completed the next release in Mush's ever expanding 7-inch singles collection. The two tracks, Rebel To The Grain and Slapbox With Jesus, are long reworkings of original Wu-Tang source material. Layering the funk and soul samples that defined the early Shaolin sound, Blue Sky Black Death create two pieces that blur the line between production and DJ mix, and make it impossible to not bob your head. Look for the single in Fall of 2008.

Pedro/James Rutledge Profiled In London's Guardian Newspaper, On Angry Ape	04/2008	Pedro's latest project, a four hour, one-of-a-kind, remix of Radiohead's Videotape has caused quite a stir. One of London's premier news outlets, the Guardian, recently caught up with Pedro to discuss this latest Straight To Video project. Also, English web titans Angry Ape, who have shown lots of love for Pedro in the past, took some time out to discuss the Videotape remix as well.

Antimc In New York City	04/2008	Busdriver and Antimc will be hanging out in New York City for a couple of nights after the Boston stop of the El-P/Dizzee Rascal/Busdriver Tour. Antimc has been invited to fill one of those off nights with a special one-off show at the Knitting Factory in NYC. The show will have a different look than the set on Busdriver's Roadkill Overcoat tour, so it should be interesting to check out. Caural Sound Piece Gets Love From Urb	03/2008	Genre bending sound collagist Caural recently put together a sound piece dedicated to hip-hop and exploration of the use of the word "yo" as a style signifier. The writers at Urb checked it out and gave it a post up on their blog. Check out the piece and the commentary here.

Bibio Delivers New LP, Vignetting The Compost, Plus An EP	03/2008	Mush Records' Black Country bard, Bibio, has completed work on his third full-length effort, Vignetting The Compost. The album will feel familiar to fans of Bibio's earlier work with its use of intricate layers of guitar work and delicious chunks of analog tape noise. Bibio continues to add vocals to his songs on this album, as he did on previous release Hand Cranked, and the effect is nothing short of stunning. In addition to the new full-length, Bibio has created a new EP entitled Ovals And Emeralds. Taking a different approach from his full-lengths, the overall sound on Ovals And Emeralds has a sonic reminiscence of old carnival and circus instruments. One imagines pump organs, calliopes, and player pianos which are achieved by manipulating his own array of instrumentation including flutes, recorders, pianos, a cavaquinho as well as unrecognizable tape loop collages, all treated in the signature Bibio method, giving them an etherial and often eerie quality. Both releases will be available in the middle of 2008.

Wraps Up Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow	03/2008	After two months of recording vocals, collecting beats from producer Thavius Beck, and putting together a stellar slate of guest MCs, K-The-I??? has finished up the follow-up full-length to Broken Love Letter, to be titled Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow. The album features verses from underground hip-hop luminaries High Priest, Busdriver, and Subtitle, as well as up-and-coming MCs including Scribble Jam 2007 winner Nocando, Urb Next 100 alum Vyle, and Galapagos4 standout Mestizo. The album will be released on Mush in the United States, and has been licensed for Europe and the UK by <a href="http://www.bigdada.com/" target=_blank>Big Dada</a>.

They'll be playing the Chickee Hut at 9:30pm on opening night. The Chickee Tent will also host the Walkmen, !!!, The National, Of Montreal, Built To Spill, and many more. The Festival is headlined this year by R.E.M. and the Beastie Boys, so this should be a great show for Bus.
